YWCA Columbus

About

How they Help

How do your programs or services help the community?

  • Each of our programs fit with our mission which is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
  • YWCA Columbus has consistently fought for racial equity, social justice, and community-centered solutions to injustice.
    • They address urgent issues happening today and prevent issues from arising in the future by helping with systemic change through action and education.
  • YWCA Columbus directly supports those in need and treats the symptoms of poverty and inequity by providing emergency shelter and permanent housing for homeless families and formerly homeless women with physical and mental disabilities.
  • They also engage the community by supporting equity-centered law and policy changes that work to address the specific needs of women and communities of color.
